What is “Carefort”?

Carefort is a system for packing used diapers using specialized packing tape in order to lock away bacteria, viruses, and odors.

Can items other than diapers be packed?

Urine absorbing pads, towels, gloves, aprons, gauze (including blood soaked), and colostomy bags can be packed.

What kinds of items can’t be packed?

1. Liquids cannot be inserted by themselves. (Liquids can only be inserted if absorbed within diapers or cloths)
2. Sharp objects such as glass or blades that may tear the packing tape.
3. Items too large to fit into the opening.

Will using Carefort just be more work?

Because the disposal process as you know it will be changed, it may be difficult to learn at first, but packing and cutting operations using the Carefort are easy and there is also an Auto-mode. We have received many reviews from customers attesting to the improved efficiency they experience using Carefort.

Is it portable?

The main unit includes casters and features a built-in battery, which enables it to be transported or carried.

How long does it take to charge?

From a completely discharged state, it takes approximately two hours to completely recharge.

What is the battery’s operating time?

With a full charge, the battery can be operated continuously for 7 hours (with the “Pack” button pressed down continuously). The continuous standby period (with power on) is 48 hours.

I would like to try Carefort, but have some reservations.

A one week free-of-charge trial period is available. There is also no charge for consumable parts. Please consider trying Carefort at your place of work to experience it effects.

How do I dispose of the packaged waste?

In the case of only the packing tape (with nothing packed inside), it can be disposed along with regular garbage. It will not give off any harmful gases even if burned. If disposing of packed waste, the disposal method will be the same as the waste that has been packed.

If infectious waste materials are packed, they cannot be disposed of with regular garbage, but must be disposed of as infectious waste materials.
Note: Please check with your local authorities regarding disposal methods.

How many items can be packed with one set?

The Carefort can pack to 800 diapers while the Carefort COLON can pack up to 500 diapers.

Are there any consumable parts?

There are three consumable parts.

I have considered using Carefort in the past. What has changed with the new models?

Sales of Carefort started in March of 2010. The button layout has changed and 3 convenient Auto-mode have been added. Also, the size has been made more compact and the unit made more lightweight to facilitate ease-of-use. We feel that it now justifies its price. A new, more compact Carefort COLON is also available.

It seems troublesome to have to carry both a changing table and the Carefort.

Various options are available that can be installed to the Carefort including dust bags and a table.

Can only one diaper at a time be packed?

2 to 3 diapers can be packed at the same time, although this depends on the size of the diapers and their contents.

What is the price?

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 498,000 yen for the main unit itself and 6,000 yen for each roll of packing tape. For actual pricing, please contact your local vendor.

Approximately 15 yen per one adult M-sized diaper. Approximately 800 diapers can be packed with one set (two rolls) of specialized packing tape. (In-house research)
<Standard usage method>
At a facility with 50 residents who wear diapers, 5 sets of specialized packing tape (10 rolls) will be used. The total is approximately 60,000 yen (reference price).

What are the approximate running costs? (In the case of Carefort)

Can multiple items be packed at the same time?

In the case of the COLON, only one item at a time can be packed. Packing multiple items at once may result in breakage.

Can options be installed?

Generally speaking, options cannot be installed, but there are some options which can be installed. Please consult with your local vendor.

What is different from the Carefort?

Although the basic performance is the same, the width has been made more compact by 10 cm.
